I named this song after Yamamoto Seichi’s book with the same title which means“galaxy” in Japanese. Even when the world feels like it is going to shit with poverty, war,and the pandemic, Yamamoto’s mysterious musical works and writings continue to shine like a distant constellation. For this piece, members from FEN (Far East Network),
Yuen Chee Wai from Singapore, Yan Jun from Beijing, and Ryu Hankil from Seoul sent over recordings for me to work with. They are some of my closest friends and we have been working together for more than 15 years.

GINGAの曲名は山本精一の本のタイトルから取りました。パンデミック、貧困、戦争……世界がひどいことになっていくなかでも、謎に満ちた彼の音楽作品やエッセイは変わることなく輝き続けています。まるでいつも変わらずに遠くで輝く銀河のように。ここではシンガポールのユエン・チーワイ、北京のヤン・ジュン、ソウルのリュー・ハンキルがリモートで音源を寄せてくれました。私にとっては本当に大切な親友であり、結成して15年になるユニットFEN（Far East Network）のメンバーたちです。
